Players with a handicap
October is high season for golf in Portugal, so as last year we have prebooked and prepaid a limited number of tee times at courses convenient for the conference.
The courses are excellent but expensive (as is all good golf in Portugal). We have only 4 tee-off times per day (16 places) therefore these are only available to registered delegates in the first instance. Please contact me g.collee@btinternet.com if you wish to reserve a place on any, or all, of the conference days, Mon 4th – Thurs 7th October 2010.
You will need a handicap certificate (20 or less for men, 24 for women) – don’t be too worried if you are just outside these limits, some creative accounting may be needed. Most of the players you see don’t seem to match the set limits!!
Other Sports
Tennis – there are 8 courts: 6 hard courts and 2 clay courts.
Tuition available from the tennis instructor.
Archery – instruction available daily
Volleyball; football – free play daily
ClubMed Fitness – works around 3 disciplines:
- gentle keep fit sessions
- muscle strengthening or aerobics
- aquafitness (aquagym)
Mini Olympics
On Wednesday afternoon, traditionally we have Mini Olympics, when everybody participates in at least one sport, so that DOCTORSUPDATES can award prizes for the winners at the Gala that evening.
The selection of disciplines available is wide, including but not limited to: golf, pitch and putt, mini golf, tennis, table tennis, archery, boules. The main event of the afternoon is an annual Sea Swim – for ‘real men and women’. Everyone is encouraged to enter the race.
